Practices

Practices will be 90 minutes, twice per week at either Turtle Lake Elementary, Edgewood Middle School, or New Brighton Community Center.  No practices will run later than 9:30pm and younger players are more likely to practice at the earlier times, while 9th - 12th graders may practice later (8-9:30).  We will provide details on practice as soon as possible.

Games

For Fall League, we are joining  The NorthStar Volleyball United Fall League (Formerly named "Twin Cities Fall League") which will be in it's sixth season.  This league is dedicated to continue playing volleyball in an environment that consistently and strictly adheres to the Minnesota guidelines for youth sports and competition.  Most sites will go beyond the Minnesota guidelines.

The league will have levels of play from grade school beginners to ELITE level athletes.

  • Format:  Two back-to-back matches on each date of competition
  • Location: Twin Cities Metro, MN & Regional Sites as needed
  • Divisions:  Up to 6th Grade, 7th-9th Grade, 10th-12th Grade
  • Competition Divisions:  Open, Premier, Club, Aspire, Classic

  • Cost: $400.00 per player.

The cost for the season reflects a high value in terms of playing time and coaching. Pricing includes: gym fees, coaching fees, nets, volleyballs, game t-shirt, and event fees. Teams will not exceed 10 players.

Skills

Youth players are not required to have prior playing experience.   Players in 10th-12th grades should have previous experience at the high school or club level.

Fall "tryouts" are more about placement; we do our best to get every girl on a team. Teams will learn the fundamentals of passing, setting, hitting, and serving. The league is designed to be a learning opportunity. All players get playing time. Older teams will learn specific positions and a 4-2, 6-2, or 5-1 rotation. Younger teams will play a 6-0 rotation that will give all players and opportunity to learn all positions.

COVID-19 Plan

We are committed to ensuring the health and well-being of our staff and athletes. We have created a COVID-19 Health and Safety Plan based on the guidelines of the CDC, MN Department of Health, and the Executive Orders issued by the MN state Governor's office. Read the entire plan here.
